…ends up on my blog (it was a very relaxed trip so you’re safe to keep reading). If you follow me on Instagram or read my Moments with Mom Monday post last week you know I went to Vegas! I’m turning 30 this year, so I headed to Vegas to celebrate with some girlfriends. We had a blast! Here’s a quick recap of our trip and some of my favorite stops.
We stayed at The Palazzo and it was heaven. Our room was super cute and we had an amazing view of the Strip!
It is part of the Venetian, so we had tons of dining and entertainment options if we didn’t want to leave the hotel. Two of my friends spent part of the day in the spa and they had rave reviews. While they got pampered, my sister and I headed to one of the 10 pools on property to get some sun. I haven’t gotten as much beach time this summer as I was hoping, so it was pretty amazing to just sit in the sun with cocktails and relax. It was so fantastic that I went back the next day for more!
For my birthday dinner, we headed to Lavo. The food was incredible and after dinner, they brought me a dessert for my birthday! We also made the mistake of getting a pitcher of cocktails for the table (it was a mistake because it was a fabulous drink that I then had to share). Gin, champagne, and raspberries? YUM!!! My sister and I split a pasta dish and my other two girlfriends got steaks that literally melted in your mouth. The strawberry shortcake we had after dinner was the perfect way to end our meal.
I think one of my favorite parts of the trip was visiting the Mob Museum. I read about it when we first started planning our trip and I love museums so I was really excited to go. There were so many interactive displays to go along with all the information about the history of the mob and how it impacted lots of other industries like Hollywood, the Vegas casino scene, and the government. If you are ever in Vegas, I highly recommend making this one of your stops. Plus, here’s a little tip for you: after 5:00 PM, tickets are $5 off and it’s Happy Hour so drinks are half price! The museum is located downtown and is only a couple of blocks from Fremont Street so it’s great place to stop before dinner.
After we visited the museum, the girls in my group ziplined down the Fremont Street Experience while I played camera man. This part of Fremont Street is covered and they have an awesome light show that plays every hour. There are also lots of street performers and bands that play in the area so it’s a fun way to spend an evening off the strip.
All in all, it was fabulous trip. We are a pretty laid back group so good cocktails, good food, and relaxing were at the top of our priority list. It was great to get away to recharge, but I was glad to get back to my little guy. FaceTime isn’t quite the same as squeezing him in person. Have a great week!
